The Indian Contract Act-1872:
The Indian Contract Act is one of the oldest mercantile laws of our country. It came into effect on the 1st of September 1872 and is applicable to the whole of India with the exception of Jammu & Kashmir. Containing a total of 266 sections it is the principal law regulating contracts in India.
Right to Information Act-2005:
The Right to Information (RTI) is an act of the Parliament of India which sets out the rules and procedures regarding citizens’ right to information. It replaced the former Freedom of Information Act, 2002. Under the provisions of RTI Act, any citizen of India may request information from a “public authority” which is required to reply expeditiously or within thirty days. In case of matter involving a petitioner’s life and liberty, the information has to be provided within 48 hours. The Act also requires every public authority to computerize their records for wide dissemination and to proactively publish certain categories of information so that the citizens need minimum recourse to request for information formally.
AP WALTA Act-2002:
AP WALTA Act to promote water conservation, and Tree cover and regulate the Exploitation and use of ground and surface water for protection and conservation of water sources, land and environment and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Aadhaar Act-2016:
Aadhaar Act to provide for, as a good governance, efficient, transparent, and targeted delivery of subsidies, benefits and services, the expenditure for which is incurred from the Consolidated Fund of India, to individuals residing in India through assigning of unique identity numbers to such individuals and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
AP Judicial Preview:
The Government of Andhra Pradesh through its enactment dated. 20th August,2019 passed an Act namely Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure (Transparency through Judicial Preview) Act, 2019. The Legislative intention behind this Act is to bring transparency in the infrastructure bidding process in the state through judicial preview thereby to ensure optimum utilization of public resources and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.
